Kimberley Mungra (born in 1987) is a Dutch singer/songwriter with Surinam roots. On a young age it all became very clear. She was born to make music and write songs. After her first performance in front of an audience (age 12) people were convinced that she is very talented and has a beautiful voice. So whats next? She was a member of the Carmenian Gospel Choir and toured all over the Netherlands and Belgium with them. After years of performances here and there it was time for something new. Kimberley wanted to make her own songs and decided to start a girl group. The group OOAK (Double O-A-Kay) short for One of a Kind was born. After the release of their first single “Act Like This” featuring Jemere Morgan (Morgan Heritage) they didn’t just convince the Netherlands but also Belgium, Surinam and Sint-Maarten became fond of the girlgroup. Despite all the shows, radio interviews, videos and interest from the music scene the group decided to split up. It took a while before Kimberley dared to take that step towards a solo career. But she is ready now! Solo artist Kimberley Mungra is ready to take over! With her sultry, sexy and cool voice she really is authentic. A performer not to forget! Kimberley Mungra: “My voice reminds me of a mix between Ciara, Tinashe and a touch of Kehlani. The sound of my music is a combination of Urban, Tropical Modern Pop (like Major Lazer) with R&B/Pop like vocals. I love to write about my own personal experiences and express it through my music. My songs are mostly about love and all its ups-and-downs. I’m very passionate about ‘self-love’ and ‘self-empowerment’. But I also firmly believe that there is nothing wrong with being vulnerable. There is nothing wrong with loving someone and giving it your all. The fear of taking a risk is worse than taking the risk itself. Live your life and more important do whatever makes you happy!”.
